Legal information

Privacy Policy

How information may be collected and handled on The Learning Net websites.

Who we are

Our website addresses are www.thelearningnet.org, www.thelearningnet.co.uk and www.thelearningnet.uk. The Learning Net is the trading name for Noor 367 Ltd.

Comments

When visitors leave comments, the site may collect the form data, IP address and browser user-agent string to support spam detection. An anonymised email hash may be provided to Gravatar; after approval, a profile image may be visible with the comment.

Media

If you upload images, avoid embedded location information such as EXIF GPS because visitors may download and extract it.

Cookies

Comment cookies may remember a name, email and website for one year. A temporary login-page cookie may test browser support and is discarded when the browser closes. Login cookies can persist for two days, screen choices for a year and a Remember Me selection for two weeks. Publishing may set a non-personal post-ID cookie for one day.

Embedded content

Embedded videos, images or articles behave as if the visitor had visited the third-party website. Those sites may collect data, use cookies and track interaction.

Who we share data with

A password-reset request may include the requester’s IP address in the reset email. Service providers may process data where needed to operate the site.

How long we retain data

Comments and metadata may be retained indefinitely to recognise follow-up comments. Registered-user profile information may be stored while an account exists; users can view, edit or delete most profile information, and administrators may manage it.

Your rights

Account holders and commenters may request an export of personal data and may ask for erasure, except for information that must be kept for administrative, legal or security purposes.

Where data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam-detection service.
